So many women get so worried when a scan or palpation tells that the baby position is not normal.
Baby can adopt any position from 0-32weeks and maintains a positon he may likely use to come out from 33-36weeks.
This means that the position of a baby from 33-36week is likely the position they will use to come out, except in the case of a multiparity(woman who have previously carried pregnancy to term twice or more ), for such women there is a chance the baby may turn and adopt a normal head down position before the onset of labour.
Ultrasound Scan towards the 36-38weeks of pregnancy is very necessary to outline the position of the baby and plan the method of delivery.
When your baby is lying breach(buttocks down), transverse or oblique towards the last weeks of pregnancy it suggest that the delivery might be through C/S if the baby did not turn at the onset of labour.
Its not not all breech presentation that warrant delivery through CS, in the hand of a competent Midwife or Doctor,a well flexed breech baby can be delivered v*ginally, but the delivery must be conducted in the hospital.
In pregnancy find out the position of your baby before labour, this will help you plan for the method of delivery you will be using.
Thanks and safe delivery.
